From the first characters to advanced level
Imagine ordering a meal on a busy street in Shanghai, chatting with locals at a temple, or simply understanding the beauty of Chinese characters.
Our teachers are native Chinese speakers trained in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. With heart, patience and modern methods they take you into everyday dialogues, cultural stories and interactive exercises.
The evening courses take place once a week, and a course usually comprises 10 evenings of 135 minutes each. All courses are aligned with the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, 汉语水平考试), the official test of Chinese as a foreign language. Its six levels are matched to the Common European Framework of Reference and range from A1 to C2. Participation is confirmed with a certificate.
If you would like to have your progress officially recognised, we will prepare you for the right exam. But the focus is always on the joy of the language.

Learning Chinese is more than cramming vocabulary or painting characters. It is like a journey into another world, full of exciting stories, unfamiliar sounds and characters that look like little works of art.
Imagine ordering your favourite food in Chinese on a trip through China, understanding street signs, or suddenly grasping the meaning behind a character that used to be just a picture. Our teachers, all native speakers, take you along on this journey with time, heart and creative methods.

Planning a trip to China, or looking for a new challenge for your mind? Then China Compact is just right for you.
This popular beginners’ course teaches practical language skills for everyday life, from greetings to ordering food. Learning Chinese characters is also an effective workout for the brain: studies show that learning Chinese strengthens memory, improves concentration and keeps thinking flexible.
Courses are available online and on site. They are aimed at beginners with no prior knowledge and also include intercultural training.
